The Franklin County DUI Task Force will be out in full force from 8 p.m. Friday to 12:30 a.m. Saturday conducting a sobriety checkpoint at South High Street and Dolby Drive on Columbus' South Side.

The Franklin County DUI Task Force was founded in 1993, and Franklin County was the first countywide task force in Ohio, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Since its founding, the task force has implemented more than 100 sobriety checkpoints, resulting in over 500 DUI arrests.

More than 30 central Ohio law enforcement agencies are task force members, including the Columbus Division of Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Grandview Heights police, Ohio State University police, and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
